The problem comes back when VLC is not open on the host machine. Weird problem. To be more specific, when I play any song or video on VLC or FooBar in the host, the problem on the guests go away.

This is why I think something is not right with the host's system or audio settings. Since VMware and host share same video and audio settings, it is probably Vmware tools problem. You can do nothing for it.

Only VMware programmers must do something. And also try disabling exclusive mode and exclusive control for audio device in host OS. I'm guessing since you're running setup64 that you're running the bit Windows edition, but can you confirm? Thanks for posting this, I was wondering where to find that es driver.

Yes, I've been looking for the driver for ages too! I didn't realize I could extract it from VMware tools like this. Hi, Very nice guide, thanks for this!

Worked perfectly too, I might add. Top job on figuring out the workaround and cheers for sharing it mate. Saved the day and my sanity. Will be drinking to your good health for the next year.

Thank you so much, Jole! I'm really glad it could help out.
